Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Co (CSPDCL) is launching a missed call service from March for a new power connection.

Managing Director Harsh Gautam said there is already a provision for online submission of the application form for new power connections.

Consumers can file the application from any service center or through their smart mobile phones with “More Bijli App”.

For consumers who do not have a smartphone, the new missed call service to request a new electricity connection will be launched from March. It will target rural areas, he said.

Upon receipt of a missed call, the department call center operator will contact the caller. The operator will assist in the filing of the consumer’s online application form.

At the end of the formalities, the amount of the request raised will be sent to the consumer by means of a short messaging service (SMS). The consumer must make the payment within three days in urban areas and five days in rural areas.

Upon deposit of the amount, the installation of the new connection will be made, he said.

He added that incentive points will be awarded to the employee for releasing the connection within 12 hours after payment in urban areas and 24 hours in rural areas. A nodal agent has been appointed to monitor new electrical connections.
