New Delhi: In what would benefit several central government retirees, public sector lender Punjab National Bank (PNB) has launched a video call service for the submission of life certificates or Jeevan Pramaan Patra.

Through PNB’s Video Client Identification Process (V-CIP), retirees will be able to submit certificates of life online from the comfort of their own homes.

How to submit a certificate of life via the PNB V-CIP?


Go to “Online Services” and click “LC Submission via KYC Video”.

You will be redirected to another page

Enter your PNB account number and your registered mobile number

Select right on the terms and conditions “Continue”

You will receive a one-time password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number

Fill in your Aadhaar number, agree to the terms and conditions and continue

Enter OTP for Aadhaar verification

Select your type of pension. If you select “Regular pension”, click on “Send a request for a video life certificate”. if you select “Family pension”, enter the required details about your job and marital status, then click on “Submit a request for video life certificate”.

Your request to submit your life certificate will be submitted successfully.

Switch to video call

Note the video life certificate process. Carefully read the instructions for Android and iOS.

Click on “Call now” and make sure you have enabled your browser’s authorization, then click on “Start calling”

You will then have to wait for the PNB bank manager to answer your call once available. During the call, the bank manager will interact and ask the desired questions for the completion of the process. They will also capture your photo.

Once the process of submitting your life certificate is complete, you will receive a confirmation message on your registered cell phone number.

Following the Covid-19 epidemic, the government has extended until February 28, 2022 the deadline for central government retirees to submit their life certificates.

“In light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in many states and the vulnerability of the elderly population to the Corona virus, it has been decided to extend the current deadline for submitting life certificates for all groups of retirement age as of December 31, 2021. “All central government retirees can now submit a certificate of life until February 28, 2022. The pension will be paid by the Pensions Authority (PDA) without interruption during this extended period” , indicates a circular from the ministry.
