VCC AirFirst manages remotes from anywhere.

Originally developed for VCC’s continuous “white glove” Caller Cloud service and used for over 20,000 remote controls on streaming, cable and broadcast programs, the AirFirst system is now available for news organizations, sports, entertainment and other media that manage their own remote controls. . With the introduction of AirFirst, producers and their teams now have a professional-grade choice for IP-based remote contribution, with real-time two-way video and IFB mix-less return audio for in-room communications. control with contributors.

AirFirst’s unique collaborative workflow supports small and large teams. One person can manage the entire AirfFirst workflow from anywhere. Each department can provide the information needed to ensure fast, smooth and optimal air connections. AirFirst allows producers to tailor the contribution system to the demands of their team, show, event and budget. “Show producers are tired of trying to force consumer video conferencing software to behave like a production tool. VCC’s AirFirst is the answer they are looking for, ”says Larry Thaler, CEO of VCC. “With AirFirst, VCC’s smartphone-based remote capabilities are now available in a DIY platform. No more nervousness, degraded video and creative inflexibility. With just a few clicks, a production team can invite anyone anywhere in the world to join a show as a guest, cast member, or even audience participant. Whether the guest is a “distant from home” or a “live rejection from a school bus,” they will look great. Thanks to VCC’s patented lag-free technology, the remote person will interact as naturally as if they were in the studio.

The basis of the AirFirst system is VCC’s patented system for IP-based remote contribution that supports native connection method choices on today’s smartphones and other devices. StageDoor’s exclusive call logic makes it easy to join a program. A guest simply clicks on a link in a text or email. No username or download is required. The built-in Tenaciti diagnostic software evaluates the connection and allows producers to make quick decisions to further optimize the remote even before connecting with the contributor. AirFirst then automates all setup and routing, making acquisition easier for producers and contributors. After the remote control, an instant erase function can automatically delete the data of VIP guests to protect privacy.

Additional modules that extend the basic functionality of AirFirst include:

CrowdView – the first virtual and multi-participant audience system can accommodate up to 25 simultaneous participants per screen and gives the operator full control over the allocation of seats. Unlike the echo cancellation found in conference systems, CrowdView automatically creates a mix-minus for each participant and manages the overall mix volume and mute. Proprietary BoP technology allows producers to zoom in to the position assigned to any member of the audience, making them an interactive full screen participant on the show.

Callers queue – VCC’s patented “green room in the cloud” makes it easy for producers to access, filter and screen large numbers of guest audience members and keep them waiting backstage where they can watch the show, ready. to join when producers see the best opportunity. With the social amplification feature of VCC, audience members become participants and participants become promoters.

Planner – a cloud-based data platform that facilitates communication between departments by sharing information on the calendar and status of contributors. Persistent database speeds up connection time for regular contributors.

Expandable capacity – AirFirst can be configured to meet the needs of multiple simultaneous shows. Each VCC hardware endpoint can support up to 25 concurrent remote contributors, and productions can provision dozens of endpoints per network. Customers can provide their own ready-to-use compatible hardware, or VCC can provide a ready-to-install system. AirFirst can isolate or share data between shows, supporting hundreds of users and the busiest production environments.
